1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those services.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous analytics about how you use the app, including features visited, searches performed, and votes submitted. This data is collected via Firebase Analytics and does not personally identify you.

Device Information

We collect device tokens for push notifications (only with your permission) and basic device information for crash reporting via Firebase Crashlytics.

Server Logs

We log IP addresses for administrative security purposes (e.g., detecting unauthorized access). These logs are retained for up to one year and then automatically deleted.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and maintain the Ball Knower service
• Process your subscription and manage your account
• Send push notifications you have opted into
• Improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google) — Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check
• Apple — Sign In with Apple, StoreKit subscriptions
• Google — Sign In with Google (identity verification)
• MLB — Player statistics and game data (publicly available)
• Sentry — Error monitoring
• Resend — Transactional email delivery

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings tab, which permanently removes all your data including voting history, settings, and subscription records.

• Account data — retained while your account is active; permanently deleted upon account deletion
• Server logs (IP addresses) — automatically deleted after 1 year
• Authentication tokens — expired tokens automatically deleted weekly
• Device tokens — inactive tokens automatically deleted after 90 days

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Ball Knower is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data (via the app)
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time
• Contact us with questions about your data

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and secure token storage. Refresh tokens are stored as SHA-256 hashes.
